“This cheeky chap was snapped at around midnight on 5th December 2009 at Walthamstow Central tube station in London. As I got of my train I’d seen him dashing down the escalator, and when the workmen shoo-ed him back up again he sat near the top for the moment - enabling me to grab these two pics.”

As in, someone carried it in, it didn’t wander in by itself, and everyone started going “BAGOOGABOOGGAHBAGABAAAAAA! Hello! Hello! BAAAABAAA! how sweet! Hola! Hola! Booba! Bubagabaaa!” to it.

I’m the only one in the staffroom not doing this patronising shit to the kid. Now people are looking at me like I’m a freak because I’m a woman and I don’t make insane faces and weird noises right in a babies face and then talk about how broody I feel.

I’m going to speak to my future children like adults when they are babies. None of this BAAAOOOOBOOOO shit.

I react like this too- I hate adults who start with all that baby talk grossness. It’s not a kitten! geez.

OH GODDDD this is the worst. I used to work in an entirely female office, and one woman who’d been away for maternity leave for YEARS came in with her unremakable baby, and everyone freaked the fuck out about it. I was unmoved, and was thereafter thought of as some sort of ice queen. It happened again when a retired employee brought her grandson in. I got really angry because I needed to use the photocopier but I couldn’t get to it because there was this baby-gauntlet that I refused to traverse. I can’t deal with babies, they’re like dogs- unpredictable and generally scary and unpleasant.
